Just chiming in that I've got my less than week old chicks outside in their mini coop with a heat plate placed inside a plastic bin with an entrance cut out and they are perfectly fine, it's been lows of 45-55 and highs in upper 70s. Only reason I did the bin over it was to knock down the drafts.
This is Curio, 8-10 weeks and is supposed to be an Ameraucana but I'm assuming he or she isn't.
I think I know the answer to this but best guesses as to a rooster or a hen?
