Pullet or Roo? I suspect that it is a roo from the pattern of the tail feathers. Any opinions on this?

They are harder to come by. Murray McMurray sells the Bielefelder chicks. When they are available they cost $7.75 for the girls and $4.50 for the males. These prices are based on purchasing 1 to 5 chicks. The females are currently unavailable through at least 10/26/20. You can keep an eye...

Pullet or Roo? I suspect that it is a roo from the pattern of the tail feathers. Any opinions on this?

Pretty awesome huh? Everyone that sees her says how beautiful she is. When I did research on her I realized that this breed was created in the mid 70's in Bielefelder Germany and finally came to the states in 2011. They are a mix of Cuckoo Malines, Amrocks, Wyandottes and New Hampshires. They...

Pullet or Roo? I suspect that it is a roo from the pattern of the tail feathers. Any opinions on this?

Turns out that Ginger is a Bielefelder. Murray McMurray Hatchery looked at the close up pictures of Ginger that I sent them and said that she is a Bielefelder. Having had the eyeliner as a young chick denotes that she is a pullet. This breed is auto sexed. I won out big time choosing to get...

Pullet or Roo? I suspect that it is a roo from the pattern of the tail feathers. Any opinions on this?

I sent pictures of her to Murray McMurray Hatchery customer service. This is where this chick came from. They informed me that Ginger is a Bielefelder and since these chicks are autosexed it is easy to determine the sex. She had the eyeliner which denotes that she is a pullet for sure. The...

Unofficial BYC Poll: Where do you get your chicks from?

I purchased my girls from Murray McMurray Hatchery. I ordered 9 chicks and opted for the free rare exotic chick. All 10 chicks survived and are now 9 weeks old. As we could not narrow down the breed, I emailed photos of the freebie to their customer service. They emailed me back to inform me...

Thanks for answering back. I'm waiting for Murray McMurray Hatchery to hopefully tell me what breed she is. She does have greenish yellow feet if that's a clue.

Thanks for you assistance. She is a very pretty pullet. Do you think that she may be a Welsummer? Murray McMurray offers a free rare unsexed chick with your order of chicks. I decided to give it a try and this is what I received.
