    I understand about keeping chicks separate until they can stand up for themselves. I'm not really sure what you can do then, unless you find some safe shelter for them at night. Sorry I'm not much help

    I've noticed that before. It doesn't normally cause any problems, they just prefer their own company for now.

    Your advice is pretty sound. I'm personally wary of fruits and veg and meat but carbs and things are surely fine. Or you can throw it out and the wild birds will finish it off.
