    2026 Chick Thread!

    Soon I plan on ordering 20 white leghorns day-olds and 30-50 meat birds day-olds, I'll let my hens hatch chicks like always (maybe incubate some.)I do currently have about 60 chickens, so it will be a good amount of chickens.

    I actually love leghorn because they don't eat much and lay a whole lot, I don't care that they are skittish because they're such great layers.

    I have had probably 30 breeds and out of all of them silkies have been the worst, they're tiny, don't lay much, and the roosters always seemed scared of everything. We got them from friends for free and gave them back after probably 10 months. I have not had silkies in more than 10 years now and...

    I have 25 hens and 5 roosters. And I plan on getting about 20 more chickens in the next few months.

    How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

    I got 10 eggs from my birds today, which isn't great for 25 hens but with the weather going from 60⁰ to 20⁰ in just a few days it's pretty good.
