There are always exceptions. I had a hen take 6-8 week old chicks. I've actually never had a problem giving any age chicks to my hens. But those hens were silkies and cochins so the breed does help.
How old are your orpingtons? They do get quite large when full grown. My uncle has that coop as a growout pen for his chicks (2-4 at a time). They get too cramped after a few months but then they go in the main coop. Personally I would only keep two full grown small bantams max in it with a lot...
A poop hammock works well to catch them. One of my hens started doing that last week and my feed bag hammock (8" below) catches the egg without breaking it. The egg does get dirty though.
I'm going to have to take the Cochin eggs off but I can add
-a jar of local honey cinnamon spread
-handful of java moss and dwarf water lettuce for aquariums
-field guide to north American truffles
This is what the black/gold looks like. This one is with my laying flock. there is also a buff orpington in with the Cochins but I think I now her eggs.
So sorry, I started cleaning and forgot.
I have
8+ Cochin eggs (mixed colors)
or
Field Guide to North American Truffles by Trappe, Evans, and Trappe...
I think if would be safe to. I just tossed two more under my hen last night after her two a week earlier. I don't think she even noticed they weren't there before.
