Ordered 2 cinnamon queens and 2 cream legbars, and received them on May 23rd 2025. I’ve never had these breeds before, so I’m not familiar. I know he’s a cockerel since he’s been crowing for a couple of weeks. 😂 Anyone know what he is?
Update:
No more broody pullet! I went out about every hour and gently plucked her out of nest and put her in the run. At night I did the chicken waltz with her in front of nests (to keep her from getting into a nest) until she gave up and climbed up onto the roost. Next day she was kind of mad...
Oh yes, I did understand that about the rooster, I was just sharing in case anyone was wondering if I had a rooster or not. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it! ☺️
I have 12 pullets of varying breeds, all hatched last July/22. Got our first egg Dec 10th. I think all were laying by mid February-but that’s a guess. I have two golden Wyandottes. One seems to be going broody. Looking back it seems there were signs about a week or so ago, I just didn’t know any...
Oh that’s so interesting! I have a little update since my last post. My Delawares have not pestered me for almost a week now. Not sure if my actions of “pecking” them on their backs and telling them no sternly finally paid off, but fingers crossed for whatever reason, they are getting nicer...
I think I got 2 Delawares from hell. They are the meanest in my flock. They bite and peck me all the time. They are about 12 weeks old, so I’m hoping as they get closer to laying they will mellow out. But I’m a newbie to chickens... 🤷♀️
Thank you, I appreciate it. So if they are some kind of sex links, does that mean this color represents female? I’m really new to this, so sorry for the ignorance.
