Another possibility is a mycoplasma, this can passed from the mother hen to the chicks through the egg and results on respiratory signs. Not sure if you have had your flock tested clear for this recently, if so then maybe not a concern. Its one of the most common diseases causing respiratory...
That's what I was afraid of.... the Wyandotte was about 2-3 times the size of the silver chick when I got them, but both developed combs rather quickly. Well, even if they have to go back I still have 7 hens I love. These guys are so cute though...too bad. Thanks for your help.
