    Thanks for the reply! I will be spending a lot of time observing and handling my chicks the first few days and weeks and I will definitely see how they react and move around. I appreciate the hints.

    Thanks so much for the advice! I planning on putting my heating pad over the chicks so hopefully that will be very close to the heat plate. I probably should have just gotten a brooder plate but most of them looked a bit small. Thanks again!
