I’ve had chickens ever since I moved out of the city to a lovely small farm 20 years ago.
I enjoy them very much as characters and I love hatching and caring for chicks.
I’ve fallen for Polish since a friend gave me a Rooster and two hens about 3 years ago. I like the way they’re naturally friendly and reciprocate my attention by following me or running to me when they see me. I’ve hand raised many other breeds of chickens and this breed is quite special. Of course ISA browns are extremely docile and friendly but I haven’t had them. My latest venture is with Guinea fowl. My girlfriend collected 4 eggs and gave them to me to hatch. Just when they were due I purchased so lovely coloured, day old Keets who have white on them. I read that Keets are very skittish and they need a flock of about 10.
so they all growing up together now and all quite happy. So far So good.
