Anyone know if this is a genetic issue, or something else? I don't want to breed this spraddle leg baby if it's going to infiltrate the flock... but this Marans chick (girl, I think) came from a gorgeous dark egg and I'd like to hatch her babies if it's not going to cause more deformed chicks.
Anyone want this roo of unknown breed(s)? He is the best rooster (personality, hardy, etc) that I've ever owned. I'm in western Montana and would drive up to six hours to meet you halfway, or you could pay for shipping. King Arthur is at least two years old and free to a breeder.
King Arthur (because he's noble and gallant) came in a mixed flock and has proven to be absolutely wonderful. Obviously he's got Golden Duckwing something... his daughters (by a black hen who lays solid color dark brown eggs, I assume a Marans mix) are laying pink eggs, which I'm thrilled...
I'd love to come to Rocky Mountain Chickenstock but it conflicts with our (more) local poultry show in Hamilton, Montana. Maybe next year you guys could coordinate to hold the two shows on different weekends so we chicken crazies could get to attend both shows?
Kadjain, I plan to do exactly what Chickat suggested... I see that I (and lots of other people) have been coveting pink eggs and have decided I'm going to try to create a pink-egg breed. So I've been searching for pink eggs and/or hens that lay pink eggs everywhere. I have a nice little flock...
