I have seen many videos of people sexing their chicks by their wing feathers...roos have one length and pullets have 2 sections and their feathers are in a rounded formation for each section.
Delilah was also a "Barred Rock" but never got her bars...she also didn't have the spot on her head...Farm & Oops messed up their signage. But I got my barred rock 3 weeks later so her name is Diva because she had a tiara not just a spot on her head!
Can anyone tell me what breed lays light brown eggs with darker speckles? I only have 2 girls that have not laId an egg to confirm who it came from.
#1 Possibly White Plymouth Rock #2 Easter Egger
4 eggs from the 4 hens that are laying out of my 6 hens(technically 2 of them are still pullets since they're not laying eggs yet right?)...so either 100% or 66.66666%...depends how the chicken math rules count it.
The "tiara" is a trait of the Barred Rock so the bottom pics must be the Blue Star. Also Australorps are usually white breasted as hatchlings not yellowish so the top pic have got to be Australorp.
They go outside about 5:30/6am and come back in about 8/8:30pm they just sleep in their "bedrooms" ...I tell them " girls...get your fluffy butts in your bedrooms it's time to go to sleep" they go by their roommates and stand in front of their totes and wait for me to pick them up for goodnight...
1st pic: Nikki 21w Black Australorp
2nd pic: Delilah 21w Black Ameraucana
3rd pic: Rosie 19w "Blue Ameraucana"(I say she's an "EE" until it's confirmed a Blue/Ameraucana with her first egg-but her muffs and beard showed up at 8 weeks old just like Delilah's so I'm leaning more towards a BA)
4th...
