    Suggestions on a mystery death???

So sorry about your hen. I too found a dead hen in my coop Thurs. She had been active and bossy as ever the day before--she was the alpha hen. I've had a total of 3 sick hens each several weeks apart, and now 2 dead. Like you, I suspect poisoning and am concerned they ate something in my...

Sick hen, tail down (pic) please help if this looks familiar

No, none of them have laid in months. I was away for 3 weeks in Sept. and had a housesitter taking care of them. Things looked ok, but who knows what really happened while I was gone. Since I got back, I got a handful of eggs over the next couple weeks and then nothing. About that time they...

I suspect it is something like that. Something she ate in the yard. Will be searching or anything suspect. Could mushrooms make them sick? We've had a lot of rain and I'm seeing mushrooms I've never seen before in the yard. Am going to get rid of as many as I see just to be safe.

If this works, I will add an pic of her now. This is a pic of Honey (on top of the wheatgrass) and the other hens in better times.

Sick hen, tail down (pic) please help if this looks familiar

My sweet Honey Buff Orp is sick. I noticed her holding her tail feathers down yesterday. I took her out of the coop & put her in a crate last night with a heat light. Today it was sunny & I made her a little run with the crate open. She stayed in the crate. I was able to give her droppers...

    Sick hen seems blind

I have a sweet buff Orpington who I noticed was behaving strangely today. She was not holding her tail feathers up. Since I had another hen die a month ago who started with the same symptom, I'm really concerned. My hens will be 2 years old in March. I had 5 hens (now I have 4). They...
