    Pet turkeys

Yeah! I just love birds! We have a lot of various chickens, a few ducks, guineas, and two geese. Raising chickens actually guided me toward being vegetarian (and eventually vegan!)So it's a little awkward being back on this site. Anyway- I'm here today because we are adopting a 12 year old...

Need info on American buff geese

Here they are greeting me as soon as I get home from work <3 I love <3 my geese! We bought two fully grown last Memorial Day. They were very stand-offish/or aggressive at first, I started regretting to get them. Then one day, after a couple of weeks, I realized the goose was coming toward me...

Lice cure??? Mrs. Stewarts Liquid Bluing

I've tried a pyrethryn spray this past summer and it did not seem to help. I've used seven and DE. I must just not be doing a thorough job. I'll try to find a powder based pyrethryn formula to add to their dust bath, and dust individually.

Lice cure??? Mrs. Stewarts Liquid Bluing

Today I decided to give a couple of my hens some TLC - they needed a bath, big time. I brought my orpington in and started giving her a bath, standard procedure, put her in a bucket of warm water and a little dish soap, lathered her up, rinsed her off, towel dried and blow dry. She...

    Broody nest too high??

This is what her nest looks like: It looks like she laid 1 too many eggs and can't fit them all. The space is about 6"x15" and the edge is about 6" tall so there's no way for the chicks to fall out.

    Broody nest too high??

Thanks- I know in nature they don't have a pesky human questioning their every move. I just get worried. I'd hate to see something bad happen that I could have prevented....

50lb feed Layer Pellets Batavia, NY Buffalo-Rochester

Ok/ Gramco does not have their own millet but they can order the white millet 50# bag for $44.00. I would be willing to split a bag with you if that is too much. Rabbit pellets are about the same price as chicken feed is (about $11.00) and changes weekly as well. I will be placing an order...

    Broody nest too high??

My bantam has created a nest in a little nook of my coop, 4' off the ground. I think once the chicks hatch they will be ok for a few days (they won't be able to fall out), but there is no room for me to put a feeder/waterer for the chicks. Will the mom be supplying the chicks herself? Should I...
