    How old is it? It looks pretty feathered out. my cockerels had their long feathersby that time. Also, the feathertips by the base of the tail appear rounded. unless is it is a very young bird, I'd say"pullet" BUT i am absolutely Not an expert.

    i learned a little more on another BYC post regarding the color. it looks like mine are not necessarily Brown red but black with missing melanin. eitherway, he has a nice conformation and i will probably keep him for my daughter to show in 4H.
