    Can you tell a rooster's age from spur size?

    He roams my ranch like a dog I don't know what breed he is, but he's definitely pretty. Do they become infertile after so many years?

    My Babies! {Pics}

    Here they are! Around half are slightly older than the others, I'm not sure on the breed but a lot look like Ameraucanas (or Easter Eggers) with the coloring and 'puffy cheeks'. This little pin is super temporary for we started with 9, and then we surprisingly acquired 10 more not even a week...

    Little Photoshoot [IMG Heavy] - CHICKS HATCHING!!! :-D

    Sorry about Killer-Hen incident. Stuff like that seems to happen a lot with the "wild" hens that roam my ranch freely. Everytime we spot one of them walking around with babies, we have to distract her and rescue her babies simply because they're not that great at keeping their babies alive. So I...

    70% Dead Chicks - Meyer Hatchery

    On the farm, some chicks die just because they aren't strong enough. In a large hatchery like that, they probably just ship them and hope for the best.

    Has anyone tried chicken diapers?

    I'm not big on the idea, if their vent (butt) gets clogged with crusted poo, it can be fatal

    New babies!! (pics)

    I have babies with chipmunk stripes too! I don't know about the breed though for they came from a wild hen's nest by my garage. We adopted them so we can raise them friendly in a chicken coop with our other chickens. The last time we let the babies grow up wild with their moms, we would get...
