Hatched on 30 july 14. Now 18 weeks. [/IMG][/IMG]. and it was obviously a cockeral. As i was told by some of u at backyard chickens. I was praying for a hen. But he is off to a good home. I will miss him tho.
Oh. Quite conflicting opinions. I dont have much choice at the moment as i would hate to pass it to someone and it affects their flock. I just feel bad as it is alone. I may ask the new home if they can segregate it away from their flock but in sight of the flock which is what will have to be...
We had two chicks 14 weeks old now. One died, dont know why. Will the surviving chick be ok for two weeks until we can make sure its not sick before being rehomed. Will it be incredibly lonely.
I suppose deep down I know, I just wont admit it. As he will have to go (to my bother tho). thanks HowFunky. Its name was donna, I guess Donald will be more appropriate. thanks
It is very frightened of everthing. Love it though. Cockeral by the seems of it, any further thoughts breed/ gender. 9 weeks old now.. (Its not going to be "he" until it crows). Thanks everyone. Sorry picture wont come up. Will have to try later.
We put three eggs under our bluebell, none of them were hers, 1 hatched 10 days ago, and its up for anything. should it be running around, with ours and mums supervision, will it pick up germs. Mum is fab, she calls chick to come come when new food source arrives, should the chick be eating...
We use shredded paper for nesting and on the floor and they don't mind it. Its cheap, as we get if off a local office. We can change it twice a week. at no cost
At last an answer that is correct. Thank you. They usually take 25 hours to lay, so it moves on 1 hour each day, then a day off. But all chickens are different.
