There are definitely more males than females. I think I can identify at least 7 roosters out of the 12. There may be more. Thank you for all your help!! This situation make me very angry. If you are going to sell your birds than at least be honest or know what you are selling, Right!!
I bought these birds 7+ weeks ago as day old chicks. They were sold as cornish cross meat birds. We are pretty convinced they are not. They are no where near butcher size and have red in them. Any ideas on them. All would be appreciated.
I had 9 layers. 5 Easter eggers, 4 golden-laced wyandottes and 1 silver laced wyandotte. I am down to 2 EE, and 3 golden. They seem to waste away to nothing but skin and bone. I see them eating but they are not gaining weight. They are only 9 months old and are currently laying. They start to...
I had an Easter Egger that had crook beak. We could not bare to cull her so we let her go. We just kept the food dish full so that the food was deep and the water too. She was our friendliest chicken and absolutely loved attention. She was my 1 year olds favorite bird. Sadly she passed away at...
I agree with acb950. As for hen or roo, I am not great at this with breeds like this but I don't see any reddening waddles or crop so I am going to go with hen. She is a very pretty little thing though!!
I got this little one about a month ago. I was told it was a barred rock, but recently I am beginning to wonder. It has a really odd looking comb and its feathers are sticking up on his head like a silky or polish. He hatched them from his own eggs and didn't have any silkies or polish there...
The white crested blue is my stepsons chicken. He will be glad to hear that it is most likely a pullet. He knew that if it turned out to be a rooster it had to go. He really loves that chicken!! My husband has even come to like the polish breed now. He wasn't a fan at the beginning.
Thanks for all the good news. I am not sure how I managed to do it, but I am pretty sure that I pulled 2 pullets from the straight run bin. Our other one is a white crested blue and looks just like this one. Wow! I guess I do still have a little luck! Thanks again!
I am pretty sure this little one is a rooster and I am thinking OEGB but not sure 100%. He has green or slate legs. He is 8 weeks old now and very pretty, but I am just not sure exactly what he is. I pulled him from the bantam bin at Tractor Supply. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey! I have no idea how to even begin to sex this little one. It is 12+ weeks.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I also have a white crested blue that has feathering just like this but wouldn't let me get it's picture!
