We had to build our chicken coop in a not so grassy area.Everywhere else is grassy, but it is hills.I feel like they need it so they can eat bugs.Or at least attract them.It also might look prettier.
My older chickens are saying hi to their new coop mates (4 month old pullets) and they don't like it.
They started fighting and the little ones retreated as a group to a safe corner.(3 of them,1 got eaten by a hawk)Naturally we separated them.I really don't want to build a coop for pullets.What...

When I watched my chickens bathe in dirt in their coop expansion fence,it looks like they were very bored. It kinda makes me feel sad for them:( Like the only thing they do in the coop is eat, drink, sleep and laying eggs.
How do I entertain them?
The chickens go roam on our field,so we thought the coop was not important unless they were going to sleep.Since I was a huge Newbie to raising chickens, this did not turn out well, poop and spiders everywhere and the eggs are very dirty. What can I do to improve it/clean it?
I was reading this forum ever since I got my first chickens. And thanks to you all,I was able to keep my chickens alive.
Been raising chickens for 1 year
