    Silkie Hen Has Bloated Butt!

Hi there! I have a partridge silkie hen that is a little over a year old. She is in with two roosters and another hen. The hen is walking upright, kind of like a penguin and her rear is very bloated. She had some stool stuck in the feathers below the vent so I cleaned her off. She also felt...

    'Rooster Tracks' Left On Hens

Hello! I've got a Golden Laced Wyandotte rooster that is going on a year old and he has discovered 'what he can do'. His three hens have what I have heard called 'rooster tracks'. He has caused near-bareness on the hens backs and around the back of the girls heads. Short of keeping him separated...

    Bloated Silkie Hen

Hello! I have a silkie hen, about a year old, who is bloated. She is acting normal. She is alert, eating, drinking, etc., but her crop is huge. Underweight Wyandotte

Thank you to everyone who helped! Sadly, she passed away sometime last night. I believe that it may have been something she had since I first got her because she is almost a year old and never laid an egg. Thanks again everyone!

It isn't Marek's because they were all hatched together and brought home on day one. The hatchery also gave them the Marek's vaccine. Thank you!

    Underweight Wyandotte

I moistened her food and she took it eagerly. I'll keep this post updated so that if anyone else has this problem, they will know if the warm moistened food remedy works!

    Underweight Wyandotte

I will have to try your suggestion. About being wormed, no. But why would she be the only one showing these signs?

    Underweight Wyandotte

There is no lump at all. She is just very thin and very little appetite.

    Underweight Wyandotte

Hello! I have a Golden Laced Wyandotte hen. She is almost a year old. She is in a coop with 3 other hens and a rooster. She is sickly underweight and I just noticed it two nights ago. They all typically sleep together on a perch inside the coop and she was laying on the ground underneath the...
