    5 hens and 2 roos survived the attack. I also have 10 chicks right now. 6 of those chicks came from the hens that passed.

    That’s very kind of you but I hatched 6 of their eggs after the attack. I would eventually like to get some more turkens but they are hard to find in my part of SC.

    Yes and I’ve been raising chickens for years and never had an issue other than a hawk. Now I’m scared of every dog I see walking near my home.

    I didn’t know the dogs or the owner. My chickens have a nice, covered run with a 6 foot fence. Then my yard is also fenced. Since this happened, I don’t let them out of the run unless I’m there. Thanks for the tips on cost. Some came from tractor supply and local breeders.

    Animal control said it would be better if a hatchery or farm gave me an estimate but I can research it myself also. Online, I can only find prices for chicks. Not adults.

    The emotional part of losing them has been awful. They meant to much to me and they got me through so much including a divorce.
