Getting started raising chickens

My girls named all our baby chicks, and we know them all!! Oh, and we talk to them also, I think they do understand:)

under the lights!

I am a new chick mom,I am just wondering how long the chicks have to be under the lights. They are two weeks now and are laying further away from the light.

You Know Your Chicks Have Outgrown Their Brooder When.......;)

I don't know if chickens get mad, but I tried to move my two week old chicks to a bigger brooder last night and they were pecking the sides and chirping loudly until I put them back in the smaller container. Now they are "happy" jumping up in the side checking out the world around them. Oh well...
