  1. Chickenmomsage

    Swollen eye and cheek.

The swelling is pretty much completely gone. I would have updated sooner but the last two days have been spent deep cleaning coops and pens. He still hates takes meds. Husband is covered in cuts from being bit and scratched by him when he has to pick him up. Only two more days left and he can go...

    Swollen eye and cheek.

It's a little better today. He did not like being forced meds but he isn't a people person to begin with. Hasn't foamed since yesterday as far as I've seen. And swelling is down a tiny bit.

I will make sure to clean all waterers today. I have shut him and his brother into a secure area so they can't wonder about until we get everyone better. What should I use to disinfect? Vinegar?

Tylan injectable. And yes, Helen has been having trouble breathing since last Friday. They aren't new. Helen and the Golden laced have been with us since August last year.

    Swollen eye and cheek.

Supposed to be getting tylosin in the next hour. I also have amoxicillin if that's useful. I only wiped it clean with a warm cloth to get the foam off. Should I treat his brothers as well or wait to see if they have symptoms too?

    Hen struggling to breathe.

I don't have either of those things. I did just order a gallon of the oxine but won't be here for 3-7 days.

    Swollen eye and cheek.

This is Morgan. He's a 8 month old Golden laced Wyandotte. Yesterday I noticed his eye was a little swollen but thought nothing of it because he and his brother squabble alot. Today his eye is foaming and has this white bit sticking out. I wiped it but didn't want to pull on the bit despite my...

    Hen struggling to breathe.

Her crop was completely empty this morning and yes all our chickens get grit along with Poultry booster. Her breathing is still barely improved. Slightly better than when it started. She breaths almost normal when laying but as soon as she attempts to move and gets even a little excited she...

    Hen struggling to breathe.

Husband is currently holding her. She lays on her stomach/chest. I got some pictures of her eye. Hope it's clear enough.
  11. Chickenmomsage

    Hen struggling to breathe.

Crop is about the size of a grape today but breathing still the same for the most part. She's now laying down more where before she struggled to. It seemed to make breathing harder. Not sure if she's laying now because her breathing has gotten easier and I can't see it or if she's so exhausted...
  12. Chickenmomsage

    Hen struggling to breathe.

Her breathing is still the same today but her crop is about half the size it was yesterday. I haven't been able to get the wormer yet. Hoping to get it today. Been doing everything else suggested. Her poop is less runny and looks more like a normal poop just black. She didn't lay today or...

    Hen struggling to breathe.

I can do that. She can barely drink at this point though. Everytime she tries she gets two sips and then starts choking. I have pick her up and pat her until she starts going back to wheezing. I was using a syringe to give her fluids but she's insistent on drinking on her own. I'm not...

    Chicken mom

Our roosters free range until it's the girls turn. Luckily our neighbors don't seem to mind them. They mostly stay in our yard near the girls. We only have two runs. One for our chicken mafia aka 4 barred rock and one for the other two hens. Chicken mafia doesn't allow outsiders male or female...
