so, right smack in the middle of the Arizona Winter one of my Wyandotte hens layed this egg on the floor of the coop! it weighed in at a whopping 112 grams, which is a record for my hens! since it had a slight crack in it, i was going to have it for breakfast, so i cracked it open, and guess...

i have been keeping only Silver Laced Wyandottes for about five years now. i try to keep 20 hens and one rooster...but you know how that goes. my numbers range from 8-20 anyway.

i have brooded on newspaper, wood shavings, and just screen (1/8 th inch machinists cloth) with newspaper underneath a brooder...and...i don't really think it matters!
probably more of a personal preference. now, mine is in a towel covered...
