Do any of you have a cross of wyandotte and ee? Wondering if this would be a better cross than using a Buckeye. Trying to keep comb and wattles small. I have a cross of Buckeye and EE and no wattles hardly and comb but wondering about best rooster for egg production.
Thanks.
Thanks. That is what I wanted to hear. Got the Hav-A-Heart trap out and will take brother possum to the river and turn him loose.
She an excellent setter. I wondered if this happens in nature like with wild turkeys.
Thanks
Just the opposite of too hot. Last night a possum chased my setting hen off her eggs. They were probably without her setting on them for 6 hrs???????? She got back on immediately this morning. The eggs were cold to touch . Temp got to 40 degrees last night. This would be their 13th day of...

One hen, an Ideal hatchery Ameraucana EE, has been laying for 7 yrs. She used to lay everyday for 4 years and now 3-4 during the spring until fall. Her offspring, half Partridge Chantecler, have been laying for 4 years but aren't good layers. Their offspring , bred to a Columbian Rock X have...
We have always been amazed that our backyard EE line lays x-large eggs and all all year around without light. I had an inbred rooster (2 generations) and bred it back to it's mother and a Production Red. The Production Red was a very good layer about 5 large eggs per week. The mother EE laid...
