    Picky Girls!!

I scattered in run and it’s still there 3 days later. It’s raw feed corn . Supposed to be good for them for winter.

    Picky Girls!!

My girls wont eat whole kernel corn! I was told it was great for them for winter. The oil and nutrients are taken out of cracked corn. They still get all they want of the layers pellets. But I was so disappointed they wouldn't eat the corn!

Why won't my chickens eat food scraps?

I think mine are just spoiled! They will not touch spinach, kale, or any type of lettuce. They love quick oats, bread, and grapes. They snub at cucumbers and zucchini. Wont eat peppers. I have quit throwing stuff to them cause I end up cleaning it up later!

How hot is too hot for chickens?

I will start using ice. We had 90 degree temps all weekend and they seem to do ok. I like the frozen treat ideas! They stay in the coop during the day (and run). Lots of shade I let them out in the yard to free range in the evenings when I get home

I will have to try yogurt. Mine are 8-9 weeks old so I think they should be able to eat anything at this...

What are your chickens favorite snacks?

I have the pickiest chickens on the planet! They won't eat : bread, mealworms (dried), zucchini, worms, or even vanilla cake! They LOVE crickets and quick oats. I cant get them to eat anything else! Is it because they are 7weeks old? I have pea pebbles in their run for a floor and they always...

ANY advice on planning coop design welcome!

I suggest gravel in the run. I used pea pebbles d/t soggy/muddy run. I love it! I just sprinkle DE on rocks then power wash poo into gravel. No smell and it stays clean! Good luck!
