    crows and hawks

I've seen our local crow family chase a hawk off on more than one occasion. They also woke me up one morning around 5AM circling a fox near the coop. They are protecting their territory, but are not protecting the chickens. Keep your youngsters safe. The hawks can and will take out a crow if...

Which Wine is Best for Health?

Ok, so I'm reading this as I'm enjoying my nice glass of white sav. blanc. I say they just haven't found the health benefits of white wine yet.

    Iced Coffee Recipe?

This is yummy: Brew a pot of coffee. Let it cool a little, add sweetened condensed milk to taste. Place everything in the fridge to make it nice and cold. Stir it before pouring. Over ice if you like. note: do not use ice cubes to cool the brewed coffee - it will water it down.

Nearly 9 mo. pregnant and now dealing with a fox problem!

Hi, Congrats on the little one! Exciting! As far as the fox goes, dogs wont help unless you have them out guarding 24/7. I have 2 out back all the time peeing/pooping and my fox doesn't care. He's been around every day for the last few weeks. We are on his route now, I guess. (Excepts...

"Move Order Notification" from Ideal... YIKES!!!

When I ordered from Ideal, they had my order early ready as well. But the move up wasn't required. I think the message is asking if its OK for them to move up the date. Leave a message and tell them it will not work for you.

Glad I joined this discussion - some excellent info being given. mulia24, i know its hard sifting through all this information - some things may not even be available to you. It may take a bit longer and cost a bit more, but cooking your own food is the way to go. I remember being a student...

[Ask] How to Get Rid of Acne Naturally

Fraurloth, Sorry about the return of the ichies! My eczema is fairly controlled now as well. The baking soda water is interesting - playing with body acidity? Sorry to steal the thread, OP! I did want to add that eating healthy fats helps as well (for the eczema too). Eat walnuts, flax...

[Ask] How to Get Rid of Acne Naturally

I have to agree with Fraurloth. So many dermatologists claim that diet doesn't affect acne. My personal experience says otherwise. I have very sensitive skin (eczema and rosacea), so there are not many creams I can even use. I do notice a huge difference when I am eating better (sugar is...

Hen: 1 Foxes: 0 GO TEAM!!!!

I had a fox do some damage to one of my girls a couple weeks ago. It got in our fenced backyard and then jumped into the chicken run(which has now been upgraded). It was about 7:30AM. The predators are in high gear this spring. At least for me. My girl is doing much better. We named her...
