Oh My...My wife tried to process 2 of our Raised from eggs Roosters yesterday, but she made it as far as the plucking. Submerged the birds in an Ice Bath and planned on finishing this morning but wasn't able to get to it. Instead, she waited til this evening. She never actually gutted the birds...

There's been a few of those days, where one or two of our birds layed two eggs in a day.

Our Girls.....2 Barred Rock, 1 Leghorn, and 1 ISA Brown.

4 eggs out of 4 girls. 634 Eggs out of the same 4 girls since Sept 04th 2022. All 4 girls are 43 weeks old.

Our girls are less than a year old, and we do not give them any artificial light what so ever. Our flock includes 2 of the barred rocks, a leghorn and a ISA Brown. They are 43 weeks old today and as far as Egg Count goes, our first chick started laying Sept. 4th .2022 and all 4 girls have layed...

Between ALL my 4 birds that are only 43 weeks old, we totaled our Egg production up finally today on a spread sheet, and came up with a whopping 634 eggs since Sept. 04, 2022. One other thing we realized was after we switched brand layer feed, we noticed an increase of Egg size. It just amazes...

Planning on pickling some. Just now receiving our jars and lids. But yea, only hope for the best with the girls and let God handle the rest.

Yea, our "Gertie"( Barred Rock) has layed everyday except 1 day since she started laying. She went about 4 days with 4 eggs, took a day off, then been throwing eggs ever since.

Pretty birds. Won't be long now and they'll be laying.

Thanks. My wife is keeping a log of each birds egg laying and how much each egg weights. So far, we've run into mostly medium eggs, but have had a few jumbos, with several Large.

There is no extra lighting in the coop. The run is close to the house, but not under any lights

Hello all. ChickenTater Dad here. New to the site and I look forward to learning from all in this community. I have 4 Girls in our coop as of right now. 1 Leghorn, 1 ISA brown, and 2 Barred Rocks. All of which are 8 months old and have been producing eggs for the last 3 months. One of the girls...

Our 4 girls have been laying everyday since 2 months ago. Couple of em have missed a couple days in between, but there is a couple that haven't missed a beat. Of course, they haven't went thru their first adult molt.
