    I had a pullet die with signs of Mereks, I did a necropsy myself at home and posted pics on a forum. The tumour was very easy to find.

    Cochins and laying?

    My Cochins aren't bad egg layers. The stress from switching homes might delay their egg laying though, as it would with any hen you move to a different pen, buy, sell etc. The mating shouldn't have to much of an effect on her laying, it didn't on mine.

    Chickens will not starve themselves, once they get hungry enough they will eat it. It might just be because you switched and they are still adjusting to the new feed.
