Roscoe & Rosie fun updates pending. Close friend of the host had a heart attack so adventures have not been happening while things were being taken care of. Look for more fun from the duckie crew later this week

    *Sigh* Still No Eggs--Coturnix

Do they need more protein ? I thought you had to keep them on gamebird type feed with the higher protein levels for good egg production . Just a thought from a novice

    My first home bred hatch

Quote: Take over the world Seriously though Genetics intrest me a lot so I'm going to play around with colors and see what we can do with them ( I know they are quite the genetic color mix but they reproduce quickly & easily. So a few generations down the road I may have some color traits...

    My first home bred hatch

I've got home bred baby buttons !!!!! It's so cool. Several members said to not incubate the first weeks worth of eggs laid. They were right I had 20 eggs the first week and 20 the second. I couldn't resist and popped all 40 in the bator together. They were all clearly dated. First week...

    Boys, boys, boys.........

Quote: Yes, I thought it was odd too. 7 roos out of 7 hatched from 8 set. The odds must be astronomical I cann't imagine vent sexing bumble bee sized day old button quailies. I can barely stand to pick them up to move them I'm so afraid I'm going to break them. Squeeze their rears to peek at...

    Boys, boys, boys.........

Quote: No heat spikes known. These buttons were a hatch of 7 out of a batch of 8 eggs. Egg 8 was clear. So a heat spike wouldn't of affected them that way. The only difference with these recent largely male hatches and previous is the addition of an auto turner. If my next younger batches...

    Boys, boys, boys.........

Quote: Yes. I have a couple of 'boy groups' already. Mainly hung on to them while being sure I was sexing them correctly. Looks like it's time for a summer boy button sale

    One missing.... :(

Sending you and posative vibes that she's safe and you'll find her in the morning. Just to help you be a little less worried I went out to lock my pullets up last week and 3 of the 4 were missing. Number 4 was hunkered down under the coop terrified. My heart sank. No blood, feathers or...

    Boys, boys, boys.........
