    New Hampshire!

Anyone interested in 3 Black Australorps? Pullets, just started laying a few weeks ago. Not getting along with another batch of chicks. Would love to trade for another breed to add to my mixed flock? They are 6 months old. Willing to trade for year old pullets.... Meet in concord or Manchester

    Silkie thread!

I'm new to Silkies, I have 2 white silkies that are 4 weeks old. They are being raised with 3 Barred Rocks and seem to all be doing great together. I'm hoping to introduce them to my 4 Buff Orpingtons and 6 Black Australorps this summer. So far they are so cute and I love the fluff!

    I'm new to raising Chickens

Welcome!!! Look at those cuties! Adorable! Always try to keep their bums clean. I use warm water and a cloth, some people use mineral oil or a tiny bit of soapy water. it takes some time to get it off unless your one of those meanies who just pull quick like a bandaid (OUCH!) Can you take a...

post your chicken coop pictures here!

My husband and I have been working on this coop for a year. It's finally (for now) done!! I love it and I have the happiest chickens! We currently have 10 but there is more space on the roost and plenty of run space. They never fight or peck each other. So far we have about $700 into this coop...

Limping Chicken with hurt leg/foot. What is it?

FYI- She did great. About a week inside with neosporin and rest in my brooder and then back outside once she was moving better. She was limping for a while longer but now back to her self! I found out later that the back of the light bulb in the coop had cracked (or been pecked) and there were...

No her other foot looks normal, this one is red and swollen. Sounds like a good plan... I'm on it!

Limping Chicken with hurt leg/foot. What is it?

Unsure what this is... Not looking like bumble foot, scaly mites? Maybe broken? She limps, can take a step or two and then sits. I soaked it, cleaned it, slathering with neosporin and have her inside in my chick brooder so she has access to food and water at all times but is away from my other...

    Introducing chicks to adults

I think a lot of it depends on the chickens ... I introduced 6 new 8 weeks old chicks to my hens, let them roam around the run and coop all day with me nearby. My hens didn't seem to care one bit. They are currently all asleep in the coop locked in for the night. I'm still watching just in case...
