    How do I get my male coturnix quail to stop crowing in the morning!?

    Our roos NEVER shut up so we gave them to a friend to become quail on the 'que. It has been peaceful here since and the girls are happy that their head feathers are growing back. I think they have been laying more eggs too which is nice!

    Have you tried sugar water? I had a couple do that and I gave them some sugar water by dunking their beak in it like you do when you first introduce them to water a couple of times and they seemed to perk up.

    Looks like my boy Egore (Don't ask my husband named him!). He got picked on the other day by the hens and got scalped so his head is now purple but healing :) I grew attached to him too lol

    Wound Kote. The salesman looked at me funny when I said Blue Kote lol. Its the same thing. They even have one that has a sponge applier rather than a spray.

    Since Egore got scalped last night, he now has a purple head. My husband went crazy and sprayed all the bald females since the bottle says that helps keep the attention away from the injury just so they can grow their feathers back. I think he just got button happy and sprayed them all lol

    I have one that has a really crooked neck but he was eating and drinking fine! You just got to watch out for them because he got picked on today and got scalped so he is in his own box until he heals :(

    20 days today and still no hatch

    I got one late hatch yesterday on Day 19 and no others have hatched so far. I hope at least one more hatches soon so it won't be so lonely! Can they get depressed being the only chick?

    Nah, you can keep the Bay Area. I got out for that reason and some others. I've looked at our two stores out here but can't find Starter higher than 18%. The regular game feed is 28% which I thought was weird. We have one more store to go check out to see if they have it.

    Oh you guys are making me miss home! I know where all those stores you are talking about are! Can they all be on the same feed or do the chicks really need to be on a chick starter? Also, we want non medicated is that correct?

    Incubator and equipement questions

    I use a Little Giant! I also have a foam one with a fan installed for sale if you want it. We only used it once but was given a bigger one so we use that instead. Bought it for 75 bucks but willing to sell it for 50. Not sure how much shipping would be though.
