Gosh he is so pretty. Looks like he might be gamefowl if he is a bantam and from the Google image search, looks like that comb/wattle grow fast on them! Do you live in Ann Arbor? Your neighbors have explicitly complained? Are you allowed to have roosters where you are? I have two boys. They...

I hate to doubt you, but are you sure this is a rooster? I don't see saddle feathers or spur buds. Would depend on age, tho. Does he crow?

Just a picture to remind myself that even tho my almost adult child loves to stay up late playing video games and hang with her friends at the movies on her days off, she still has a spot in her heart for her favorite chicken. She will be 18 in 4 months. This Mama's heart is feeling a bit blue...

We have a super unique climate here in Michigan. I didn't know we had so much fruit here in the SW corner until I moved here 4 years ago. I certainly had never heard of a Paw Paw (except in the Bear Necessities song from Disney's The Jungle Book lol). Also, there is a Sequoia growing north of us...

Ohmigosh! It's actually native to Southwest Michigan, USA (Paw Paw, Michigan area). I've been meaning to grow that because it once grew wild here! That's exciting! We have tons of fruit trees in our area, but we get LOTS of snow and cold weather in the winter, I wish we were tropical!

Avoid Detroit or avoid Ann Arbor? 75 will take you right around Ann Arbor, which we would avoid whenever we could when we lived over that way. It's such a mess and so stressful. If you're coming in to the state from 80/90, I would go to the middle and travel up. 75 can be such a pain to drive...

If you do go with home solar panels, you want to find ones that have an ROI that is 5 years or less, any longer (most are like 15-30 years) and that technology becomes obsolete - think of cell phones from 5 years ago, solar technology is developing at about the same rate. End of September is...

For real, send some of that cool air our way, will ya @1muttsfan ?? 90° again today and a slight cool down, then back at it next week. I'm in the lower left corner of the mitten, so we get the bad Chicago air here, too. Enjoy your trip @BoundlessLove and make sure to stop for fudge. If you're...

Please send the deer my way, I have tons of hostas for them and have always disliked these plants. Go figure, the deer around here don't touch mine so they keep popping out lil new plants every year. Seriously, if you want some please come take them!

I'm totally open to trades, I just don't know what the "fair value" would be.

If someone were to offer a trade of organic blueberries for a dozen eggs, what would you consider fair? A quick Google search tells me 2 pounds of blueberries is roughly equal to the cost of a dz eggs (mine are $4.00/dz).

Has anyone else had an influx in these guys this year? I went out to the run this morning and they were around in swarms. The birds enjoyed chasing and eating them. After learning more about them, they are Green June Bugs. They are not an invasive species and can cause minimal damage to crops...

Bumblefoot struck yesterday. My girl, Shuri has had constant bumblefoot for a few years and I only treat it when it gets bad. She enjoyed her spa day and has a fancy foot wrap to show off. (Also, huzzah for volunteer tomato plants 🤭)
