Early guesses? 3 week old polish sexing

Hello all. I hope to get some individual shots and combine them with the chick photos as a bit of a resource.. at least for seeing 3 roosters and 1 hen develop haha. Though we don’t have eggs yet, it’s a done deal we have: Pickles: cockerel (mixed but mostly white) Peaches: cockerel (dark...

Got some better pictures today. I was feeding them raspberries - that’s why they have red on their beaks! Peaches - darker buff laced Squash - white pullet Rhubarb - lighter buff laced Pickles - white cockerel We are now almost completely positive that we have 3 boys and 1 girl...

@BastyPutt hi there! I have some new photos of our Polish. They are about 10 weeks old now. We suspect Peaches, Pickles and Rhubarb could be cockerels. And Squash is staying strong as our pullet. Let me know your thoughts! Also, everyone still seems to be getting along but when do you...

When to separate polish or add more pullets?

Hello! We have 4 Polish chicks that we raised from a couple of days old. They are almost 8 weeks old now. My question is, when do we need to separate the cockerels from the pullets? Or, add more pullets. We think we have 2 and 2, but are not 100% sure. Thank you for the help!

Back again! Everyone is loving the coop and run - humans included 😁 I got some shots of them today and I’m just getting more confused haha! They are between 7 and 8 weeks. I have labeled the pictures where the birds in question may be shot from the side or front. Rhubarb has a confusing...

    Canadian Hello!

Hello! New to chickens. Just built our first coop and have 4, eight-week-old Polish. We will look to add some more pullets soon. We live on the East Coast of Canada and also have 3 dogs and 2 indoor cats. Hope to share some of our adventures and continue to find the answers to all of our...

Hello from the Polish! I believe they are around 6 weeks now and will be moving to their coop soon! Main reason for the update is that - from the top (I know this isn’t an angle you’ve mentioned as an important one) rhubarb, pickles, and peaches look like they have very similar crests to each...

Thank you, that being said… how many pullets would we need to add to have a happy flock? let’s assume we have 2 cockerels and 2 pullets at home now. I am getting mixed messages online about the minimum number of hens per rooster. *30sq foot coop with a run that will accommodate more than the...

Haha! I have attached a couple pics from the side. They are not labeled, but Pickles is on my arm furthest from the camera. (Peaches is the closer one to the camera). And Squash is alone in the 2 photos. Squash showed waddles first and then all of a sudden had a very pullet-looking crest. We...

We have some big changes in these crests. Wanted to give an update and see if it may be easier to tell their sex at this age. All chicks doing well and their coop should be finished soon 😁

Thanks for the “Splash” I had no idea what to call them. I appreciate the info and guesses so much! I’d say that is what we had guessed as well, we will hold out hope that we may be surprised with more turning out to be pullets. Stay tuned to find out!
