Not using roosting bars
I have just shavings in my coop and when I get new chickens they will sleep in the corner of the coop all snuggled together but shavings work good enough for me without other types of bedding- ChickQueen77

Comb and wattle frostbite
you can prevent frostbite if you keep their coop dry and free of drafts but still well ventilated. I had a rooster that was out in a shed meant for cows and there are a lot of cracks and it was drafty and the rooster got frostbite on his comb and all his comb points froze off. but now all my...- ChickQueen77

Thanks! I got him at the state fair poultry auction this year. i love him but I really wish he wasn't white. My white chickens get so dirty and when it is really muddy my white chickens are the only ones that want to be outside- ChickQueen77
