I have 1 chicken molting currently, it’s the dead of winter. She is half bald and shivering. What do I do for her?! I don’t want her to suffer?
We have a mildly insulated and adequately ventilated coop. Our run is roofed and currently wrapped in plastic to keep out snow and some wind. They are...
We had pretty much the same experience when introducing our rescue dog, a 4 year old black lab who was a failed duck hunter with a prey drive. She would pull VERY hard on the leash to lunge and snap at them and even managed to get a mouth full of tail feathers yanked out when we introduced her...
Hatchery Silver Laced Wyandotte is currently 5 weeks old and larger than all the others (assorted breeds). Comb started to pink up suspiciously early. Pictures are from approximately 3 weeks old and then 5 weeks old. What do you think?

I’m adding some more photos, if y’all wouldn’t mind giving your opinions again for the lighter reddish brown (possible pullet) and the white. I appreciate you taking the time!
Well darn, if that’s the case I won’t be getting many eggs will I? Haha I guess we’ll have to buy some sexed birds from a feed store. My husband really only wants to keep one rooster and will probably want to make a meal out of the others. I thought they would be around a while so I’m pretty...
First time chicken owner here and I need help sexing them. I got them straight run from a backyard farmer and it appears that my luck is really bad because, to me, 4 out of 5 appear to be cockerels. Like I said, I am a newbie... I hope I am wrong, the reddish brown looks like the only pullet...
