    It sounds like a birth defect, not an illness. Keep the others warm and hope for the best. A heal lamp that keeps their area around 95 degrees and also an area they can get away from the heat in case they get too hot. I use a storage tote with a heat lamp suspended over one side.

    Hi, Have you ever de wormed her? How does the poop look even though there isn't much of it? How does her crop feel? If she's not eating much it should be mostly empty and small. Have you tried some good treats to get her to eat? Scrambled egg is usually a winner.

    It is most likely the respiratory infection. It doesn't like an injury. How are you treating the infection in the others?

    At least 5 years if not longer. The one on the coop wall only gets used in extreme minus temps, so maybe a few times a year. The other has been used many times for chicks or a sick or injured bird.

    I also don't wash them. If there is a little dirt or poop on them I wipe it off with a damp paper towel. If they are really poopy, Those eggs get scrambled and fed back to the hens.
