    Question about trapping fishers.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience dealing with fishers. About 2 months ago, something got into our coop and took all 10 of our Basque pullets. I secured the coop (or so I thought) and I went and bought a few hens at our local auction house. 2 weeks ago, they went missing. Both...

    Why are my hens bare?

Did you do anything in particular? Special diet, medication, home remedies? I'm hoping with time they will heal and, of course, start laying.

    Why are my hens bare?

Thanks. I was thinking it was probably something like that. They were probably at the bottom of the pecking order and that's why they were being sold. Thanks for the advice about the scrambled eggs. I'll be keeping and eye on them to make sure they aren't picking at each other.

    Why are my hens bare?

I have no idea how old they are. They don't provide that info at the auction. Unfortunately I didn't have an opportunity to look at them up close prior to the auction and I only saw one of them very quickly before the bidding started. But now that I have them I want to give them the best...

    Why are my hens bare?

Here are some pics. They look pretty rough and I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

    Why are my hens bare?

Today my son and I went to a livestock auction and bought three laying hens. They are in pretty rough shape. They are missing the feathers on their back, bottom and even their legs. I'm not sure if they were attacked by other chickens (or something else), if they are molting or if this is a...

    What would have done this?

I have a live trap, but I'm a reformed city girl and have no idea how to set the trap or what I would do with whatever it is when I do trap it. I didn't find any of my chickens, there was no blood just a few feathers in the coop and a little trail of feathers to the hole in the fence. Because...

    What would have done this?

The hole in the fence was quite small (I have a chihuahua/mini dachsund mix and he wouldn't fit in the hole). Our lab generally barks if anything comes into the yard, I wasn't home for part of the day so I don't know if she did bark this time but I assume she did. I live in southeastern...

    What would have done this?

This evening I went out to check my (basque pullet) hens water and found that all 10 of them were gone from the coop. They were fine this morning when I checked on them. Something had snuck under our fence and managed to move two large logs that I was using to prop the door flap on the coop...
