Chicken With Swollen Abdomen, Missing Vent and Underside Feathers

Thank you! I’m not sure when she laid last, because her eggs look like my other Buff Orpington's. I attached a picture of her poop this morning. She seems more active today, I'll go clean her up and give her a bath!

Okay thanks, I tried feeling for an egg yesterday and just felt her leg-bone on the left I think but I didn’t go that far.

    Chicken Can’t Stand/Walk - Please Help!

Thank you! I gave her half a pill yesterday, today she looks really lethargic with shut eyes. She hasn’t really eaten anything, but she drank some water. Still no poop. I just noticed that her right foot is curled but I can uncurl it manually. I also gave her an Epsom Salt bath yesterday and...

    Chicken Can’t Stand/Walk - Please Help!

Thank you so much for replying. Would these work? And do I give her the whole pill? She is really tiny, being a bantam Easter Egger. I don’t see anything of alarm of the foot, she may have scaly leg mite?

    Egg bound? Please help

Hi! I am totally not an expert, but is your hen still alive? If so, I don't think that she's egg bound. My chicken's vents pulse even when they are fully healthy, so I think it's normal. Is her vent swollen? Maybe isolate her? Sorry I can’t help more. -chippycheeks

    Chicken Can’t Stand/Walk - Please Help!

Hi everyone, this morning I discovered my bantam EE named Mila sitting on the ladder to our coop falling and very unbalanced. Upon further investigation, I found that she could not walk or stand. It seems to be her right foot/leg. She is vaccinated against Marek’s disease. She hasn’t laid since...

EMERGENCY! HELP! Chicken with bloody vent.

Hi! She could have a prolapsed vent, and if you have other chickens, she could be bleeding because they have pecked at it. I would separate her and spray some Preparation-H on it if you have it. Otherwise, you could use some honey or sugar. After that, gently push it back in, and keep her in a...

    Vent Prolapse, Help Please!

Thank you for your replies! Her prolapse is staying in so far, though it sometimes prolapses a little when she poops, then goes back in by itself. She is drinking and eating normally, and is very feisty. She doesn’t have an egg inside, but she laid one yesterday that had a streak of blood on it...

    Vent Prolapse, Help Please!

Hi everyone. My Bantam Easter Egger is about eight months old, and I noticed that she had a vent prolapse. Her past few eggs have been a little bloody. It could not have been more than two days old, because I was handling her on the May the 26th. I have pushed it back in, but it keeps popping...

    Hi! I’m Chippycheeks!

Hi everyone! I’m Chippycheeks. I joined in the beginning of October, but never introduced myself. I have two Black Australorps, two Buff Orpingtons, and two Easter Egger Bantams. All of them are female except one of the EE Bantams, but I can’t keep him. Will anybody give him a good home? He is...
