    Handling the heat.

    If any of you here in Southern Arizona have newly hatched chix, to help them survive the heat try freezing their water font or place a lot of ice cubes in it. They will lie next to the waterer to stay cool, plus it gives them cold water to drink. My newbies are lovin it.

    Please tell me this is some sort of molting.....

    This could be plain old pecking whick is sometimes caused by one or more aggressive chickens in the coop. You can either cull out the offending birds or de beak them.
