I ordered from backyardforchickens too. They sent a ship date shortly after ordering (within a week). I talked to the post office the day they shipped to tell them what I had coming. Little did I know they would be calling me bright and early the next morning! I thought they were being shipped...

I also went to my PO and gave the lady my name and # told her what I was expecting. What I wasn't ready for is when they called the next day and said my chicks were here! Talk about a scramble to get food and water ready, heat lights on. I thought it would be a 2 day ship but it was less than 24...

So this is my first time owning chickens and I didn't know they purred like cats. I was holding my 3 day old Australorp and she started purring and fell asleep in my hand! It was sooooo cute. Do all chickens purr?

Hey Nipper..I got my babies yesterday from the same co. and the box had Randall Burkey (Texas?) sticker on it but they were shipped from Polk,Ohio (Meyer?) nevertheless all babies are healthy and just as cute as ever! Glad all your chickies are doing well.
