Ducks 2015!
We got the Cackle surprise a few days ago and got three mystery ducklings! Can't wait to see what they are they are all three yellow with no markings. -

To insulate my coop walls or not to insulate my coop walls?
I live in sw Missouri. I had production reds that I bought from my brother in law who had bought them from a guy that had been mass breeding them so they were not in the best condition when I got them (they looked mal nurished and most of their feathers were gone) But they had filled out nicely...- Christin

To insulate my coop walls or not to insulate my coop walls?
I have lost all of my hens this winter due to the cold. So this year I am "remodeling" my coop. I have the plans drawn out and everything laid out neatly on paper. I know that I will be insulating the ceiling and under the sub floor. But should I insulate the walls even though I will be wraping...- Christin

Toulouse Geese Thread
Lol! How old do Toulouse geese have to be before fertile? My hubbies mom once had a pair of ? and he said that it took the male three years to become fertile and that one day the hen just walked out of the barn with three babies behind her. -

Chickens, Ducks, and Turkeys!
I read that feeding your chickens ducks ect. keeps them from getting sick bc the garlic is a natural antibiotic that is also a probiotic so feeding it to them all the time will not harm them but it keeps them healthy even if you have all of them together.- Christin

Wouldn't the temp change harm the babies? I plan on placing my order in February since that is when they will start hatching chickens. -
Ducks 2015!
This spring I am ordering 10 Rouens from Cackle Hatchery; they will be strait run so I hope that I get a good ratio! By this time next year I hope to have them laying some eggs so I can collect them and start hatching! But I will be patient; I know that ducks take time and lots of clean up... -
