    Good to know, I'm in Los lunas and want to make sure my babies are ok in the heart and cold the temps hit both extremes. I'm wondering as far as heating needed in the winter, anyone need to use heat mats? Do we need saddles to breed wyns?

    I started looking into the Wyandottes, they're absolutely gorgeous I think I'm going to switch to them from the Plymouth rocks I was originally thinking. I am amazed at just how sweet they and how gorgeous they look. Thank you so much for your reply

    Do Barred Rocks get broody

    Plymouth rock have all the qualities I'm looking for except for being broody, should I get anther hen to hatch or wait it out and watch chit one too go broody? How likely are they to want to stay with their eggs?

    Making my own feed recipe

    I know I'll be using chick starter for sure, and I am planning on having feed on hand as well I'm just hoping to be able to move over to more of it coming out of my own garden rather than store-bought. I am planning on using mostly things that I grow because I'm going to be growing them anyway...
