    Having had a good rooster and a nuisance rooster.. , I would never keep one who attacked me or the family or injured the hens. There’s always someone trying to re home roosters , find an honest person with a good rooster and make the switch Imo.

    I have a new flock of ten chickens now , had 6 added 4. (First time owner, 1 rooster) Integrated them by keeping next to the coop for a week … then free range outside the coop here and there for a week … and third week extended more and more time until they took well enough to each other...

    Built a Third Coast Coop, Here are my thoughts.

    Thanks We have done one full clean , removed the poop tray and had an easy enough time. Sent my 9yo son in with some gloves to brush out the corners etc. With some rakes/brooms it’s was easy. Coop is actually around 4ft (5 w egg boxes) by 6.5ft wide , I wish I went 8 but it is what it is.

    I built this coop using Douglas fir from Lowe’s , most of the rest from Lowe’s except roof from Depot and it cost 1500 or so with paint , accessories , etc.

    My americaunas hens at 4 months have a much different comb. Smaller and more spikey. Still almost tan/peach in color.
