Welcome! My favorite breed is Americana, they are very hearty, smart chickens and do well in many different types of weather and have pretty consistent laying depending on the chicken.

8 Year-old Austrolorpe Found in Coop Paralyzed Symptoms

Not to be insensitive but are you sure the chicken is still alive?

Racoon attack; wing torn and toes gone.

Something similar happened to one of my chickens a few years ago. Our neighbors dog dug a hole under our fence and attacked my chickens, one had a broken wing and large punctures. What we did was bathe them with unscented antibacterial soap. We also isolated them (of course) and gave them...

    Separating Broody Hen & Chicks

I would separate her, especially after the chicks hatch.

Second hatch, question about taking chicks out of incubator early

I do the same thing, when the chicks are dry, I take them out and put them in a brooder and have never had any issues.

    Chick trouble

I would try a different feed and give them more vitamins and nutrients. Try giving them some eggs too, i just scramble them and give them to the chicks and they love it.

Is it possible to get two Brody hens to adopt and then coparent chicks together?

It is possible but you have to be careful and be watching them to make sure they don't fight. Hens can be very protective of their chicks. If the hens are not mean to each other than I'd say go ahead but as soon as you see them fighting you might have to separate them.

I got 12 chicks from Tractor Supply.

Americanas are my favorite breed, you will probably love them. Don't worry about the smaller pullets. They will grow at their own rate and my just be smaller than the rest. Just make sure they don't get picked on and they should be fine.

5 weeks old - sold as sapphire gem pullet. Accurate?

Definitely a Cockerel, also looks like it may be too light to be a sapphire gem

    What breed or gender?

The light one is definitely a male and the dark one looks like a hen. The light one also looks like a kind of egger maybe judging off of the wing feathers.
