    I got several a year ago. 8 roosters and 2 hens!!! None had the crest that they are supposed to have. Very bad luck with hatching out any.... yes, the gene pool is very small. Mine are now just in with my mixed egg flock. Not worth the money for now.

    Hatch Rates

    The exact incubator that I have.... and my hatch rate was also very low. Kept the humidity at about 45% Day 1 thru Day 18, then kept it at about 70%. Temp is very accurate. Over half died at about Day 18 or so. What's going wrong?

    5 eggs hatched on Day 21. 7 seemed to have died around Day 18 to 20. Temp had stayed perfect all along.... humidity was around 40 until Day 18, then up to 70 Day 18 and beyond. What is happening?

    What is a "Tetra Brown?"

    I just purchased some chickens last week from my Tractor Supply in Coeur d'alene, Idaho. They had both the Tetra Browns and the Isa Browns, and they supplier is Hoover Hatchery. Lots of info about them on their website.
