I found something on YouTube where he made a frame and has put 1/4 inch wire mesh over the frame which he put inside the plastic bin, made a small cut out on the bottom of the bin to have the poop pan out in.

My brooder has 2 spaces, 1 for when they are younger, 1/8 inch wire mesh and another with 1/4 inch wire mesh, that is separated by a plywood that I can pull out to remove the divider. Whenever we clean the brooder, depending on their age, we just move them from 1 part to the other. 10 to 12 day...
My personal opinion, eversince I gave my chicks a place for dust bath, none of them looked wet, and They were more active.
