Two years ago I had bees in my chimney. I had to tear apart the top of the chimney, climb down, and clean house. I removed at least 30 lbs of homey comb and wiped out the hive. That was my first experience around bees. They are pretty intimidating when ticked off! These were pretty docile...
My chicken coop was based on using an old 8ft sat dish as the roof. It has worked great for us in SoCal. My girls just sit in the rain though rather than get into their nesting box.

I have an 8 month old rooster that needs a home. He is a cross between a Barred Rock rooster and a Golden Laced Cochin hen. Very pretty and will continue to look better as he matures.

Coffee with Penny. This wasn't staged, just a quick phone shot as she sat there and hung out with us.
Fluffy checking out the horse.
My nemesis, the roo.

Okay, Here is a video of a chick hatching. I didn't edit down the video so it's a bit longer than it needs to be but, nice time lapse of a hatch. You can see the chick zipper the egg.
8ft satellite dish makes a great roof. May not work everywhere but in coastal San Diego this works great. I keep between 4 - 8 chickens in there. They free range during the day.
