    Silkie thread!

Was a free mini fridge, but by the time I finished it was a state of the art humidity controlled, forced air, egg turning cutting edge chicken hatching machine. Otherwise known as I spent too much $ on it.

    Silkie thread!

Yes I mad it from a mini fridge. Used Incubator Warehouse thermostat and 40 was twin bulbs for heating elements. came out pretty good, also put a little giant egg turner in it, still has room for improvment. But not bad, I will go snap a pic and post it.

So excited, I'm shaking! Hatching today!!

Grand total was 25 chicks, 4 were not silkies, and I had 28 eggs, pretty good ratio, looks like 2 were not fertile at all. Their picture is above

How can there be that much humidity?

I have pretty much the same set up as you. I have the incubator warehouse egg-o-meter and remote temp and humidity thermometer. I also bought the Incubator warehouse thermostat for controlling my incubator. I have been pretty happy with it. Generally my egg-o-meter reads a higher temp than my...

    Silkie thread!

I am new to silkie breeding, I just hatched a batch of my own eggs a week ago, and I am hatching another 25 eggs today. My chickens free range all together. If I don't separate them what kinds of colors should I expect to get from my hatchlings? Do white pairs make white chicks, buff make buff...

Not au-naturel, but my silkie eggs are pipping today . last batch was 8 out of 9, so I have high hopes for these 25 eggs. my silkies seem to be much more fertile then my "larger breeds"

    Poor hatch rate

I am using light bulbs for heating elements, I started with 60 watt, but downgraded to 40 watt bulbs for the same reason. The 40 watt bulbs cool off pretty quickly and do not spike the temperature, however i have just noticed the temperature is only accurate at the location of the probe, so I am...

I am looking at one right now too, did you ever make a incubator out of the Blue M?

    Poor hatch rate

Does anyone have a reason other than too much heat for the early hatch?
