    droopy roo

My bantam roo suddenly starting acting sick today. He was fine this morning crowing his little head off and keeping watch of the girls. We worked in the yard all day and he was fine. After dinner he hunkered down, eyes closed and fell off his perch. I am going to start with electrolyte and hope...

My chicken with a prolapse! PLEASE HELP

She had lots of normal poos without incident so she is back outside with her friends. As soon as we got out the door they came running to welcome her back. Took the time to put a new band on her and have some one on one snuggles. Thanks for the info you and this site are awesome.

My chicken with a prolapse! PLEASE HELP

I also want to thank you! Yesterday I noticed one of my girls has what looked like a bloody rump. I had to chase her around trying to catch her to get a better look. She had a large ball of poop stuck in the exposed vent. I was able to expel the poo and bring her in the house. She got cleaned up...

FOGHORN LEGHORN~ "Lookit here son, I say, I say son, did ya see that hawk after those hens? ....

I have an extension cord running to the coop for the heat lamp for the really cold nights. Now that spring is approaching and the lamp isn't going to be needed I will try the radio too. I couldn't get video even if I tried. I am too busy pulling on my boots and running around the yard yelling...

FOGHORN LEGHORN~ "Lookit here son, I say, I say son, did ya see that hawk after those hens? ....

I have lost a total of seven birds and it was in a very short period of time. The hawk is very brazen and doesn't seem to fear humans. I am going to try the scare crow now that the hawk has come back and tried to get a free lunch. I'll also try hanging CDs and hope its a cheap fix. The neighbors...

    NY chicken lover!!!!

My girls got spoiled late in the summer with free ranging. Then my neighbor had to move and asked me to babysit her 17 bantams. After some squaking and bullying everyone seemed fine. Then all of a sudden our nightly head count was off. I figured they weren't into the roosting routine and found...

    Get inside!

I am fairly new to this so my help may not be the best but here goes.. Can you get into the run? Go in after dark and put them in to coop and keep them in there most of the day. My birds are very observant and cautious when it comes to new things. Yours may be afraid of the new coop. If they...
