So Tuesday was a very bad day on our farm. My sons placed our 45 meat birds in their new 10' x 10' x 8' chicken tractor on Monday. The chicken tractor was in the field next to the free range area for our other chickens. The birds were about 4 weeks old and had been just a few feet from this area...
I purchased these birds from TS the last week of February. They are supposed to be Cornish Rocks, but at 10 weeks old and 2 to 4 lbs they clearly aren't! I think maybe some of them are white leghorns. Some of the others favor my Rhode Island Whites and I have no clue whatsoever on the buff...
(1) I have had chickens a little over a year now.
(2) I currently have 46 chickens
(3) My farm has Rhode Island Whites, Buff Orpingtons, Silver Laced Wynadottes, and Red Ranger hens. We have a lot of new chicks some of which have yet to be identified as they aren't what I thought I was buying...
